• Various minor bug fixes.

Keychain Minder 1.3mus is a modified version of Keychain Minder that not only updates your user keychain password on a directory password change, it also updates the MUS password as well! This is big news! Any organization that makes use of a directory server (and most that use MUS do) can now have Keychain Minder update user passwords correctly when the directory change is required. Administrators must be made aware of the initial limitation of this: namely that the System Prefereoces -> Accounts tab "Change Password" option should not be used, as Keychain Minder will not be able to notice a changed password when the user uses this manner. Apple would have to add plug-in hooks to this function to allow MUS to update via this mechanism.

So users should be directed to wait for the Login window change dialog, or ask an Administrator to set their account to require a new password on next login. Please use the Forum to report any bugs or questions.

Restoring MobileUserSync Data
Monday, 11 April 2005
Restoring Data from the Server (Mac OS X Server):
After successful use of MobileUserSync all data will be stored on the server in the location of your choice. When you need to access this data you can access it as you normally would any data on the server.

However Flies are in this format:
filename   (data fork)
._filename   (resource fork)

The Simplest restore:
If you are doing this on an OS X Server machine, you can simply Log into the server via smb:// and retreive the files, as SAMBA will recombine them correctly automatically.

MobileUserSync:

MobileUserSync started out as just a GUI application to manually copy a local Home directory to a server for backup purposes. The script that does the actual syncing was also called via cron to run the backup on a schedule. But since most of our Mobile Users (laptop users all) were on the go, the script would fail often as the machine was not connected to the network when the cron job would fire off. MobileUserSync then grew into what you see now.
